LIFO Poetry - Victoria Andino, 3 year veteran

"Working Bliss"

Green pastures all around us...
Rough roads beneath our feet...
When shade and breeze join as one
We can surely beat the heat.

The river roars below us,
Made with heavenly tears.
It flows straight through the valley,
Its sound heavy in our ears.

The sky above us shining
With sunlight burning down.
And although the work is hard
We cannot seem to frown.

We stop to look around us
As we trod around the bend.
We see all nature's beauty
With all its gifts to lend.

No words can speak of feelings
That this group holds inside.
They shine right through our faces;
There's nothing we can hide.

We speak of other people
We wish to share this with.
If only they could be here
To bask in all this bliss.

"The Quiet Mountains"

In this quiet time of peace
When I hear the breezes blowing
I pause for just a moment
To hear the waters flowing

I see the hills and mountains bloom
With sheets of pink and white
The stars above me in the sky
With moonlight shining bright

The grasses grow
The crickets sing
Is there chaos?
No, not a thing.

Well as I sit here in the dark
And soak in all God’s gifts
I simply sit here in the dark
And let my spirit lift.
